• Click the Browse button.
• This opens a dialog box labeled "Choose File".  This searches for the picture on your own computer.
• To navigate around the folders on your machine, you may need to change directories.  To do this, you may

1. Click on the large My Computer icon (or any other of these large icons) to begin a search;
2. Click on a folder inside the large white area to move down into that folder to see what files are there;  
3. To move up a folder, click on the little yellow folder up-arrow icon.  This icon can be found near the top of the dialog window: its a little yellow folder icon with an up-arrow inside the yellow folder.
4. Use the blue arrow icon (found beside the yellow folder up-arrow icon) to take you to your previously displayed  folder.

• Once you have found the photo you want to upload, select it and click on the Open button.  You may also click the Cancel button if you decide to cancel out of this process.
• You will now see the text box beside the browse window has been filled in with the file name that you have just chosen. To upload this file, you will need to click the Upload Image button beside the Browse button.
• Congratulations! You have now uploaded your picture!
• If the photo is too large, it may time-out before the image is completely loaded.  If this happens, please contact Voices@JournalChatter.com.  I may be able to provide further assistance to help you with this process.

 

I am having trouble uploading a picture. What can I do? 

There are times that a selected picture is too large to import into JournalChatter.  When this is a problem you will receive an error - after a few seconds of trying to upload the picture. This is a side-effect of the internet host site - yet there is a way to get around this problem. 

If you have a picture editing program (such as Paint Shop), you may start by trying to make the picture smaller - by shrinking it - and trying again. If, after this, you still have issues, you may email the picture to Voices@JournalChatter.com and the administrator can shrink the picture to allow successful import - and then it will be mailed back to you.
