You've probably all wondered where I've been. What have I been doing that has
kept me from writing on this website. Well, as you may suspect if you've been
keeping up with my journal, I've been volunteering with the Barack Obama campaign
for Change. I have been a team leader for Voter Registration in my area.
And what a wonderful experience it has been! I recently was invited to our local
Campaign For Change office one evening after hours to be thanked for my work. I've
been tirelessly putting in many hours hosting voter registration drives all over my
county in Colorado. What has happened by this army of volunteers is something
miraculous. You see, our county has always been republican. In matter
of fact, one year ago, there were about 27,000 more republicans registered than democrats.
By the last day to register new voters, October 6, one week ago, a change has occurred.
A change completely unexpected by those in the Obama campaign. By our tireless
efforts and long hours, we've changed that around. There are now about 2000
more democrats registered in this county - a shift seen here, and across the country.
A shift that shows America is tired of being on the sidelines. We all want to
join in and make sure we are heading in the right direction.

There is still plenty of work to be done: phone calls, canvassing, reaching out to
people to make sure they vote. Its going to be a long hard journey. I've
already got plenty of stories to tell, stories that raised my spirits, and stories
that did not. Maybe one day I'll have the time to write down a few of them,
share them with you. Right now, I'm on my way out the door again, another day,
another volunteer opportunity...

What a wonderful two days we had this year at the Land of Oz. The weather was

to make it three for the October 3rd and 4th of 2009! Y'all come!!

it! I even love to languish under a palm tree with the warm breezes slowly swaying
the palms, creating an illusion of a hothouse paradise. But sometime this month we
are going to wake up in the morning, walk outside, and languish in the luxury of cool
fresh air. </font>

outside air conditioning…we are all patiently waiting! </font>
