This site was created by women for the way women communicate.  We get to know each other through sharing our experiences in life.  We listen to each other, give advice when needed, and support each other, irregardless of our differences.  That is what this site is about - creating a community in just this way.  We can each share our stories, seek advice, and give support.  Our views will be different, that much we expect and that is exactly what is intended.

The main page tells one story - a story of inspirational journals connecting all of us through our combined life experiences. Our individual journals tell our personal story - our own daily struggles, adventures, and journey detailing our hopes and dreams.

A lot of sites already exist for women. But I wanted to create a site that was different than most other sites, a site that was tailored to the way we already communicate.  I wanted to create a community. Topics are not just topics.  Here they are our personal views detailing our own perspectives.  Here, they are our personal journal entries.

This is what JournalChatter is all about.  Our journals telling our stories, our community sharing our journals with each other. Many voices speaking as one.

  • What can I do on JournalChatter? Your online journal is your personal page of reflection, where you can review all the comments to your postings. Please remember that the journals are open to the public, as any blog would be.  If you decide to contribute, you can customize your journal page to include a personal message and pictures using the My Style members feature, which is available once you are logged into our site. Anyone linking to your journal will then see your personalized Journal and Message Board pages.

  • Your Personal Message Board: As a JournalChatter member, you have access to your own personal message board. You manage which JournalChatter members are  allowed to see and post messages to your Message Board.  It is a way to keep in touch with friends and family, as well as a way to better get to know JournalChatter members.

  • How do I get to know other JournalChatter members? This site is designed to get to know each other through our personal journal pages. Reflecting on our life and the events in our lives gives a glimpse of who we are to our JournalChatter members.  When you find you want to extend your friendship, or share your own experiences with a member, you may post a message to her message board.

  • Who can see what I post? JournalChatter journal entries can be set to varying levels of privacy.  There are three levels of privacy: fully public, public to members only, and private. Fully public entries are viewable by all those who access our website - members and non-members alike. Entries marked public to members only will be viewable by members only, and only when logged into the website. Entries marked as private will only be viewable by you.

  • What does it mean to be a Top Picks journal? You decide whether you want your journal to be a Top Picks journal.  You can request this option when you sign up, or you can change your mind at anytime and change this setting on your personal profile page. If your journal is a Top Picks journal, all public entries will be shown on the home page, as well as on your personal journal link. For those that are not Top Picks, your public entries will be viewable only when clicking your personal journal link - and will not be shown on the front page.

  • Who can see my message board? Your message board is private and only available to those JournalChatter members that you have allowed access.

  • How can I use this site to keep in touch with friends and family? You should encourage your friends and family members to become members of JournalChatter.  Once they are members, you can communicate using the personal Message Boards.  You don't need to keep a journal to use the Message Board feature.

  • How can I create the look I want on my personal web pages? Once you are logged in to the JournalChatter website, you have access to all the member only featuers. The My Style members feature allows you to customize your personal web pages with both words and pictures.  You can pick your favorite inspirational saying, which will then be displayed on the top banner of your personal web pages.  You can also upload pictures to personalize your journal entries and messages as well as your personal web pages.
